Case Study

Whydah Pirate Museum

Launching a brand new venue

One of North America’s most popular museum exhibitions ever, Real Pirates, found its permanent home on Cape Cod in a brand new venue, The Whydah Pirate Museum.  A venue that we later positioned as 'an interactive science center for all ages where you can touch and see the world's only authenticated pirate treasure!'

Immerse Agency was tasked with the development and implementation of the entire marketing campaign:  the brand & creative development, media planning, strategic partnerships, public relations & more!

We began by aligning The Whydah Pirate Museum with key organizations that had a major footing in the fabrics of the community, from the Convention and Visitors Bureau to Dunkin’ Donuts, The Cape Cod Times and others.  These partnerships acted as a communication vehicle to reach the masses and a silent endorsement to add credibility.  We layered on top of this an efficient and smart advertising plan coupled with strategically timed public relations and social media initiatives.

The word spread quickly about the attractions and as such, the initial launch campaign resulted in over 30,000 people through the door in the first 8 weeks, a strong result in a small market. Attendance continued to grow as the season pushed on and it is now one of the most popular attractions on Cape Cod.
